The National Three Peaks Challenge takes in the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours.
Myself and George are taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge, aiming to start at Ben Nevis on the afternoon of 3rd August and finish at Snowdon the following evening – All within the 24-hour time limit. I sadly lost my Grandad earlier this year after his 10-year battle with Dementia. If you’ve been lucky enough to have your grandparents in your life, you’ll understand just how difficult this year has been for me and my family. My Grandad was the person who gave me my love for the outdoors and being active. From a young age, we spent countless weekends walking around Pleasley Vale and Hardwick Hall with my brother, with no real destination in mind – just enjoying each other’s company. Those walks are some of my happiest childhood memories, and are something I’ll always treasure. The Three Peaks Challenge is something I’ve wanted to do for years, and completing it within 24 hours would mean so much. More than anything, it feels like a fitting tribute to my Grandad, and I’d like to think he’d be proud of us for taking it on. We’re raising money for Dementia UK, whose incredible work supports families through some of the toughest times in their lives, providing expert advice and compassionate care when it’s needed most. Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean the world to us and will help make a real difference. Thank you so much for your support. Steven & George
