The Veterans Hub Weymouth & Portland CIC and The Veterans Charity are grass route organizations that provide immediate support to veterans, their families, and those still serving, when they need it the most. The teams that run both of these projects are some of the most passionate and determined people that you will meet, but they are only able to do what they do because of your support. Without the generosity of donations and fundraising events, they wouldn't be able to do what they do. With that in mind, this September, a group of veterans, civilians, and one Springer Spaniel named Benji, are going to hit the three highest peaks in the UK over a 24 hour period, to raise funds for these two amazing organizations. The team will be made up of people of all abilities, with several having mental and physical health injuries.
Fundraising pageThe Hub café is open six days per week, and is run by veterans for the whole community. It also has a purpose built therapeutic area comprised of a gym, accessible for all allotments, gardens, physio room, and quiet room. All of which are free to access for veterans and their families. They also run a multi-agency welfare office, offer counselling services, and support with addiction. The team at The Veterans Charity offer immediate support for veterans who are going through tough times, by way of providing brand new white good, electronics, clothing, bespoke food shops, and help with utility bills.
