We are honoured to support YMCA Derbyshire and their incredible Foundry Point project, a cause that aligns perfectly with our values of giving back and creating real change where it is needed most. YMCA Derbyshire is dedicated to providing personalised support for those at risk of homelessness, social exclusion, and limited opportunities. With 225 bed spaces spread across the Derby and Derbyshire, they strive to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. This year, they are constructing a development of 60 affordable self-contained flats on Cotton Lane in Derby. This vital project aims to break down the barriers young people face in accessing the housing market, and provide them with a safe and supportive environment to take their first steps towards independent tenancy. However, the need for affordable housing is urgent and YMCA Derbyshire needs our help. That's why, in order to help towards fully furnishing each flat at Foundry Point, we are aiming to raise £2,500. With this amount, essential items such as white goods, furniture, blinds, flooring, and Wi-Fi, can be purchased, all of which will make a huge difference in the lives of those residing at Foundry Point. On 23rd June 2024, a team of six participants from PDS, along with a member from YMCA Derbyshire, will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Scaling the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough in under 12 hours (covering a distance of approximately 38.6 km), is no easy feat. But we are determined to push ourselves to support this incredible cause.
