On average, 1 man commits suicide per minute, it’s the biggest killer of men under 50. ANDYSMANCLUB is a charity set up to encourage men to talk and communicate how they are truly feeling and to make them feel like they’re not alone. Growing up men are taught to ‘man up’ and not show their feelings, this stigma needs to be changed. The team completing this challenge are Danny Yates and Liam Molyneux. We have been friends for 20 years and have always done things together no matter what it is. Danny, has been through his own fair share of mental health issues. Back in 2020 he attempted to take his own life, but luckily failed, since then he has been improving his own mental health whilst trying to help others to make life that bit more bearable and easy. He has been to ANDYSMANCLUB himself and found that it really helped and it gave him the idea to raise money for the charity. Liam, a currently serving soldier within the British Army has also had previous troubles with mental health, he is a big advocate for promoting ANDYSMANCLUB and feels the work they do is phenomenal. Within the Army over the past 19 years 260 male suicides have been recorded. Which is over one a month. He hopes raising awareness for an amazing charity like ANDYSMANCLUB will be able to let everyone feel able to voice their feelings and not bottle it up and self sabotage.
