Our 3 Peaks challenge started as an ambition to get behind something and go beyond our comfort zone as a team. This is a huge challenge for our group, who is made up of a real mix of experience and vastly different abilities to climb a single mountain, let alone summit the three highest mountains in the UK, all within just 24 hours!! So raising money for charity, to mark the enormity of the challenge in front of us, quickly became a must. As we navigate each of the Peaks, we will be raising funds for the incredibly important work of The Alzheimer’s Society. Alzheimer’s has devastating impact on lives, something every one of us in the team has seen through family or friends affected by the disease. As you may know, we have recently had one of our team diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's, and Chris will be joining us for this challenge to raise money for this great cause. Chris wanted to share a few words: "I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimier's in late 2023. I was fortunate to be diagnosed at an early stage, however others continue to struggle with this awful disease undiagnosed. I'm really proud to be associated with my colleagues to support this initiative to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society so they can continue their invaluable research". We hope that our challenge will bring some awareness to the transformative work of The Alzheimer’s Society and, most importantly, contribute much needed funds towards reaching a future where dementia no longer devastates lives.
