Carers Link Lancashire is a registered charity that supports over 11,000 unpaid carers across East Lancashire. An unpaid carer looks after a loved one, friend, or neighbour, with a long term health condition, mental health condition, disabilities and more, who simply could not get by without their help. It is estimated that there are around 6.5 million carers in the UK, around 1 in every 8 people. Three out of every five people in the UK will become a carer at some point in the lifetime. In Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley, we also support young carers aged from just 6 years old to 18 years old, who are looking after parents, grandparents or siblings. 3 members of our staff at Carers Link Lancashire, and their family members, are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise vital funds for the charity to continue supporting unpaid carers!
