LUTSO Leveling Up Through Sporting Opportunities LUTSO is committed to ensuring that all children, regardless of their background or financial situation, have equal access to the sports they love. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the benefits of sports. Our mission is to break down barriers to participation, promote social equality, and inspire young athletes to thrive in the sports they are passionate about. Through our LUTSO Scholarships, we aim to provide financial support for children aged 8-16, covering the costs of club fees, uniforms, equipment, and competition expenses. Ultimately, LUTSO aims to create a more inclusive and equitable environment where every child has the opportunity to develop their athletic skills, build confidence, and enjoy the social and physical benefits of sports. Our objective: In the first 12 months (January-December 2025) we wish to support 12 children between the ages of 8-16 in the Sleaford area. In our 2nd year we are aiming to support 25 children in and around Sleaford. In our 3rd year we are aiming to support 50 children around Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. The difference this will make to the local community is extremely significant. We understand the benefits to children of playing sports and the disadvantages those children of lower income families face. Benefits to the Child: • Improved physical health • Improved mental health • Friendships • Life-long skills useful in the workplace such as teamwork & leadership • Improves their academic performance at school • Focuses their minds & brings aspiration • Keeps them away from getting into criminality • Reduces their chances of being involved in drug/alcohol abuse Benefits to the parents/carers: • Decreased financial stress & burden • Brings the parent a feeling of pride being able to take their child to a sports club • Improves the parent/carer and child relationship In addition to the children we are supporting we would like to start building a reserve with our fundraising efforts to ensure we are safe as a charity for a minimum of 12 months.
