Southern Plant Warriors

This ambitious endeavour will see them scale the highest summits in Scotland, England, and Wales—Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Mount Snowdon—covering 23 miles. Each peak presents its unique set of challenges, from the rugged terrain of Ben Nevis to the steep ascents of Scafell Pike and the breathtaking views from Snowdon. Their journey is not just about conquering mountains but also a quest for purpose. The team will come together to raise awareness and aim to gather a total of £5,000 for three charitable causes that are incredibly close to their hearts. Fiorina Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund- The Fiorina Fund was established in memory of Fiorina Elliott, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in September 2009. It funds vital research and initiatives focused on pancreatic cancer at the Royal Free London, led by Mr. Fusai, an expert in Hepato-pancreato-biliary Surgery. Dr. Fusai holds a special place in the hearts of the Gale family, having supported Simon Gale, founder of Southern Plant, during his three-year journey with cancer. Baby Loss Memorial Tree- After the loss of Jordan & Hannah's daughter Isabella Rose, in July 2020, they focused on helping others facing similar grief. They found solace in a memorial tree at Ray Mill Island, run by SANDS Berkshire, which offered a safe and beautiful space to remember their child and connect with other grieving families. Inspired to create a similar memorial in their community, they approached Henley Town Council and received approval to proceed. They enlisted renowned fabricator Gavin Hadley to design the tree, which will resemble the one at Ray Mill Island. Over time, the tree will be adorned with personalised leaves from parents honoring their lost babies, providing a tranquil space for remembrance and comfort. The Henley Man Club- Founders Luke Dorn & Gary Boys mission is to create a space where men can gather and celebrate the positive qualities of masculinity, offering their skills, knowledge and experience to have a positive impact on the community. They hold weekly meetings every Monday in Henley-on-Thames to support men around the county. As they tackle each peak, they will be supported by the cheers of friends, family, and fellow supporters, reminding them that they are not alone in this battle against the clock. Together, they will forge unforgettable memories amid the breathtaking landscapes, pushing their limits and redefining what they are capable of achieving. The Three Peaks Challenge is a test of willpower and resilience, but it is also a celebration of teamwork and friendship. Along the way, the warriors will face physical exhaustion, unpredictable weather, and the mental fatigue that often accompanies such demanding pursuits. However, the anticipation of reaching the summit and the camaraderie shared among the team will drive them forward, each step bringing them closer to their goal. As they prepare for what promises to be an exhilarating journey, they carry with them not just their own hopes and dreams, but the collective spirit of everyone who believes in their cause. This team will rise to the occasion, proving that with determination and unity, they can achieve the extraordinary in just 24 hours. On behalf of the team involved, the employees, and their families, we kindly ask you to contribute generously to help us reach our goal for three incredible causes.
