About the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge

The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan in the same day, either over 24 or 12 hours.

The group is made up of our 19yr old daughter, Yvie, her dad, Alun (who is doing all the driving), Arthur (Yvie’s boyfriend), Yvie’s best friend Hannah and some of Yvie’s friends from work who wanted to support her on this huge challenge of completing the 3 peaks. My family, friends and I are raising £15,000 throughout 2026 by doing various activities for Ty Hafan Children’s hospice. Ty Hafan supports children and their families through the toughest times and makes sure they have every opportunity to make happy memories during what can be the most difficult time that no parent should have to face. Ty Hafan has been part of our families life for the last 18yrs. They have given us, our children and so many others so much that it is our honour and privilege to be able to give back. In 2018 we raised £11,000 and donated a cuddle blanket and Heart in their hands keepsakes. These gifts were to give the families eternal memories and the gift of time with their children after their passing. This year we hope we can raise the same again!! Or even more!! Elis Rose’s story…… Elis was born in October 2008 with CHARGE syndrome. During her short life she gave so much happiness and love to everyone she met. Elis passed away unexpectedly in March 2010 aged just 16months. Her family were devastated and unfortunately there was no option to spend extra time with her to say a proper goodbye or to have any keepsakes made for her family. This is something that Elis' family think is very important and they feel that every parent should be offered at such a sad time. Our aim is to help families get the opportunities that they were not able to have.
